Starting December 1, 2025, the operations of the Grindavík Service Team will change. After this date:

• Applications for additional housing support and psychosocial assistance will no longer be accepted through the team.
• General services such as phone support and social counselling will also be discontinued.

Part of the team will continue working on Grindavík-related matters in a different capacity. Soon, the focus will shift to gathering experiences, perspectives, and lessons learned to support the ongoing rebuilding of the community. This will involve focus group work, which will be announced later.

The team will still handle mandatory tasks related to preschools and primary schools, as well as integrated services for child well-being for families registered in Grindavík.
